The Power of Daily Habits – Part 2
How Are Habits Formed?
Our brain is designed to save energy. When we repeat an action again and again, the brain turns it into an automatic behavior. This automatic behavior is called a habit.
Over time, habits become part of our daily routine, often without conscious effort.
The Habit Loop
Most habits follow a simple three-step cycle often called the Habit Loop.
- Cue – A signal that triggers the habit.
- Routine – The action or behavior you perform.
- Reward – The benefit or satisfaction you receive.
When this loop repeats regularly, the habit becomes stronger.
Why Habits Are Powerful
Habits reduce the need for constant decision-making. They help us perform important tasks consistently without relying only on motivation.
