Oath to the Republic
26 January Special | Final Message to the Public
A Republic is not sustained by celebrations alone.
It survives through commitment, conscience, and courage.
On 26 January 1950, India did more than adopt a Constitution.
It placed trust in its citizens.
That trust must be renewed every generation.
Not in words, but in actions.
Let Us Take an Oath
I pledge to:
- respect the dignity of every individual
- defend truth, even when it is uncomfortable
- reject hatred and discrimination
- question injustice without fear
- practice equality in daily life
- live the Constitution, not merely quote it
This oath is not for governments.
It is not for leaders.
It is for ourselves.
A Republic does not ask for blind loyalty.
It asks for conscious citizenship.
If each citizen guards justice, practices empathy, and upholds values, the Republic remains strong.
Dedicated to every conscious citizen of India
