Youth and the Republic
26 January Special | A Message to the Public
Every nation speaks about its youth as the future.
But the truth is simpler — youth are also the present.
The greatest danger to a Republic is not rebellion, but indifference.
Many young people today say:
“Politics does not interest me.” “Nothing will change.” “I will focus only on my life.”
But when youth withdraw, decisions are made without their voice.
Silence does not protect freedom.
Being politically aware does not mean shouting slogans.
It means understanding issues, questioning power, and standing for fairness.
A Republic cannot survive on the energy of the past.
It needs the courage of the present.
Youth participation is not optional.
It is essential to protect democracy, dignity, and diversity.
